Invitation to join us for a joyous Celebration of Motherhood.
As you are aware, the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre
for Africa, is the largest philanthropic cardiac unit on the
continent of Africa.
We are committed to ensuring that every one of the children
born with congenital heart defects gets a chance to live a
normal life - for that is the gift of paediatric cardiac
intervention. But these procedures cost hundreds of thousands of
rands - way out of many of our reach.
But, thanks to the generosity of a
host of individuals and organisations, we now have our own means
of helping raise those funds. Please SMS HEART to 38208 to
donate R10-00 to help save a life.
Your generosity will not go unnoticed and you could help save
a life.
On behalf of our CEO, Mrs Lynda Bleazard, the parents and -
of course - the children, thank you in anticipation of your
donation. Please can you also pass this invaluable message on to
as many of your contacts as your can. Every R10-00 helps save a
life.

The Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa (WSPCCA),
situated within Netcare’s Sunninghill Hospital, Johannesburg is
a 16 bedded dedicated paediatric cardiac intensive care unit and
was established in 2003 by Dr Robin Kinsley.
Previously head of department at Witwatersrand University, Dr
Kinsley was struck by the fact that paediatric cardiac surgery
in Africa has long been a luxury available only to the
privileged few, which meant that, for all intents and purposes,
entire populations have been excluded from treatment for a
correctable medical condition. Fewer than 30% of South African
children and less than 1% of children throughout Africa benefit
from these life saving operations. The rest die.
Ironically, 95% of heart defects in babies and young children
can be successfully treated. The WSPCCA came into being to
address this inequality and to give hope to the cardiac children
in both SA and Africa at large.
Madiba said in his address at the opening of the WSPCCA: “The
Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa is an
initiative that deserves the support of all of us - private and
corporate. The centre needs financial as well as moral support.
I trust that the private sector shall respond as generously in
support of this centre as I have always found them to do when I
called upon them for support.”

Mr. Erich Lejeune is a businessman, motivational speaker and
TV presenter who is giving back to the underprivileged children
by running a foundation in Germany, Munich called Heart to
Heart.

He came out to JHB in January to meet with Lynda Bleazard and Dr
Robin Kinsley and see the Walter Sisulu Paediatric Cardiac Centre for Africa, a philanthropic
foundation we am running here in JHB which sponsors
underprivileged children and babies in SA and in Africa who need
corrective heart surgery.
His consultant Prof. Netz also came with him. He is going to
sponsor 11 local SA children to come to WSPCCA to have their
hearts healed and these 11 children will be on the pitch of the
opening game of the world cup. He has contacts as per below
note. He is coming to SA on 22/5/09 to do the cheque handover to
me and to be interviewed in a press conference together with the
11 children who will receive life saving heart surgery with the
donation form his foundation to us.
Dear Lynda, Prof Netz and I came home from
South Africa with a full heart of emotions.
Congratulations for your wonderful work which
you establish together with Dr. Robin Kinsley. I
started to discuss all our points here in our
foundation and we are 100% sure that the future
can make, in our partnership between “WSPCCA”
and the “heart for heart - foundation for
life!”, a lot of new life’s for the poor
children in Africa.
As we discuss on the phone a very very big
Highlight will be our “Children Heart
Operated World Cup Team”. From our side
we will bring Prof. Horst Köhler, as the patron
for this unbelievable Charity work around the
World Cup tournament in South Africa. I got
yesterday a Phone call from a famous German
TV-Station the want to have the story with the
Heart Operated 11 Children exclusively!
I also spoke yesterday with Dr. Günther Beckstein the former
Bavarian prime minister, he is like my right arm in the
foundation and he was really happy with our idea with the
Children World Cup Team. We will have these children on the
pitch of the opening game".
